Potiphar's wife fell in love with Joseph who was very handsome. When Joseph refused to have anything to do with her, he was thrown into the royal prison.

Among the prisoners under Joseph's care were Pharaoh's chief butler and baker.
One morning they both told Joseph that they had dreams which they could not understand.
Joseph said to the chief butler : " Your dream means that in three days you will be freed and restored to your former position.
And Joseph said said to the baker: " Your dream means that in three days Pharaoh will hang you. "

Pharaoh had two dreams which troubled him.
"I dreamed," said the King. " That I was standing by the Nile when seven fat cows came out of the river and started grazing. The were followed by seven others, the thinnest I have ever seen. which ate up the seven fat cows.
" Then I have dreamed another dream. I saw seven ripe ears of corn growing on one stalk which were swallowed up by seven other ears, shrivelled and thin and blighted. "

Joseph said to the king: " Let Pharaoh put a man in charge of the whole country with controllers under him, to collect and store one-fifth of the produce of Egypt during seven years of plenty. These stores can be used during the years of famine. It must be done because there will be seven years of wondeful harvests in Egypt, these will be followed by seven yeas of terrible famine.
Pharaoh said to Joseph that there was no one can be better to do that than Joseph, so at a stroke, Joseph became under Pharaoh the greatest man in Egypt.
At last Joseph could help all of his brothers and his father, and he asked them to stay with him in Egypt. That was the reality of his former dreams.
